Our vision is to bring together organisations and communities to
agree, promote and propose solutions and to deliver improvements.
The Partnership believes that much more of the decision-making can
be taken at local or neighbourhood level. We are committed to the
people of the Mansfield District having a greater say in how local
services are developed and delivered. Only by genuinely engaging with
local people can we develop services which truly meet local needs and
aspirations. In particular the effective engagement of local people is
critical to the regeneration of our most disadvantaged communities. It
is only by taking notice of the experiences and ideas of the people who
make up these communities that we can find the range of solutions
necessary to build communities for the future. All the partners are
committed to the ideas of co-operation and co-ordination. They all want
to make sure that the Mansfield District continues to develop a strong
and sustainable economy, healthy and safe communities which are
exciting and confident.
With the help of a strong Community and Voluntary Sector and
initiatives such as neighbourhood policing, extended services in and
around schools, children's centres and many more, there is a greater
opportunity for communities themselves to take a central role in
shaping the way services are delivered.

Moving Forward
Our Action Plan
Like all major towns and cities, Mansfield is working hard to
improve services and raise the quality of life of its residents. We do
this by being clear about where we are now and where we want to be in
the future – and more importantly, how we get there.
The partnership management information system collects in one place
information about all the key improvements that we are making. It shows
how well we are performing against both national and local targets.
Changing & Improving
Our Action Plan represents the work done to meet our current
priorities. We all know that priorities change over time and that to
make real progress; we must think and act flexibly. To underline this,
we will review our Community Strategy each year and will introduce new
activities to our Action Plan to turn new ideas into action. Our Action
Plan evolves continuously but we hope that it will always contain
enough energy and focus to bring about real improvement in our District.
