Our vision is that we will work together to continually improve the
quality of life for everyone in Rushcliffe. This will be achieved
through action to improve the economic, social and environmental
well-being of the borough. Our vision for 2020 is that Rushcliffe will
be an excellent place to live, work and visit for everyone.
There are three focus groups:
- Economic
- Environmental
- Social
Our strategy and action plan draw together views of the community
actively sought by the partnership through a programme of consultation
events held in the Autumn of 2004. There were five key themes:
- Protecting and improving our environment.
- Supporting the local economy.
- Building strong communities.
- Making communities safer.
- Helping people to live healthy lives.
A sixth theme, supporting children and young people was added in 2006.
The first Rushcliffe Community Strategy was published in September
2002 and focused on economic, environmental and social well-being aims
backed by a list of 150 actions. The latest Community Strategy was
launched in April 2005.This was written with a 15 year vision to 2020.
Each year the action plans are reviewed and amended as projects are
completed or new projects are created.

In June 2008 the structure of the Community Partnership was changed.
We now have six organisations represented on the Board and work with
many more across Rushcliffe such as Town and Parish Councils and
various resident groups. Rather than including all those tasks carried
out by organisations working in their own area of expertise, the 2005
strategy concentrates on how two or more partners can work together,
effectively and efficiently, to make improvements leading to a better
quality of life.
