Where do we want to go?
To make Nottinghamshire the place we want it to be in in the future, we all need to work together to:
- promote a viable economy
- improve educational attainment and skill levels
- improve community cohesion and participation
- reduce crime and fear of crime
- tackle smoking and alcohol misuse
- improve emotional wellbeing
- tackle rising obesity
- reduce health inequalities
- improve quality of life for vulnerable people
- promote environmental sustainability
Whilst each of these priorities is important, it should be remembered that they are not separate and that they are closely interconnected; one impacts on another.
The next few pages explain what each of these actually mean for local people.
Achievements within these ten priorities will ensure that Nottinghamshire’s communities are all places where people want to live, where people are healthy, with opportunities to take up good jobs, to have a good education and to be able to enjoy quality green spaces.
